As I mentioned last week, my sister and her friend our in town visiting for the week, so between hosting duties and my usual workload, I don’t have as much time for the blog this week as usual. Things will be back to normal in a few days, but I thought this week I’d try something different.
For those new to the site, on Thursdays I post a weekly short composition called a Microjam, which is usually written on whatever theme I feel like at the time. It might just be something that interests me, or something that I feel will be a challenge, or I might totally cop out and just write a song about what I’m physically looking at at the time because, like, whatever, am I right?
Instead, this week I’m taking requests! I’d love to know if any of you out there have ideas for this week’s Microjam. Maybe you want me to write in a particular style or atmosphere? Maybe you want to hear a chiptune piece in the style of Chopin, or a classical piece that sounds like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs? Perhaps you’d like me to write a theme song about what you had for breakfast, or the awesome sound the snowpants you had as a kid made, or for the new pokemon you invented, Bovopsuped?
If you’re interested in making a request, let me know either in the comments below, or on my facebook or twitter pages. You have until Wednesday morning, after which point I’m going to get started working on whichever one I think rules the hardest. Oh, and please remember these pieces are supposed to be relatively short, ok? Requesting entire symphonies and electronica covers of “In A Gadda Da Vida” isn’t fair.
Let me know what you’d like to hear, and then check back on Thursday for the result!
