I’m currently working on a project with a bunch of other composers for Child’s Play, so I gotta keep the explanations brief for the next few weeks.
This week, I wrote my take on a typical video game town. You mostly see these in RPGs; places where you can take a break from slaughtering fire lizards and flying razor squirrels or whatever, stock up on health potions and purple drank, and basically just give your character a chance to chill for a while. The houses are bright, the people spout repetitive but friendly one-liners, and the back alleys are filled with charming critters instead of urine and meth-heads.
I wanted it to sound peaceful, but active, and since I’m trying to do more pieces that feature my instrument, piano makes up the main melody. Let me know how I did!
