Holy crap I’ve done thirty of these!

Hard to believe I’ve been doing this feature for over half a year! That’s the third longest I’ve committed to anything, if you count my marriage and waiting on hold with comcast to find out my internet has been down because they’re doing maintenance but they’re still going to keep billing me for it, respectively.

I wanted to have something grandiose and epic for you guys this week for the milestone, but I’m ecstatic to announce that I was offered the job writing the majority of the music for Tom Francis’ “Gunpoint,” an awesome cyber-noir indie game that looks like a hell of a lot of fun and is getting some pretty cool press already to boot. Open submissions for the music were held back in December, but I wasn’t holding my breath because tons were sent in and they were all really great. So when I got told last week that I actually got the job, I was so excited I attempted my first cartwheel since I was a little kid, and my coffee table and I regretted it immediately. After returning from IKEA and the hospital (in that order), I got to work right away.

So just another heads up; my weekly posts here might dip in and out a bit, and I’ll try to keep the blog updated, but I want to get as much of the music for this project done early so there’s plenty of time to tweak and get everything right.

This week, I’ve got a very simple little quartet made completely out of sine waves and a little analog percussion. Kind of has a Postal Service vibe to it, and I feel like it’d be a good fit for something adorable, like Scribblenauts or Puppybowl. Hope you guys like it!

Yeah I watch Puppybowl, what of it.
