This week, rather than my regular Microjam feature, I thought I’d share another unused track with you guys. I was working on a mobile game called Chroma about a year ago. It was about a little guy named Huey who gets all the color stolen from his world, and has to use his magic paintbrush get it back. The player would travel a drab world battling enemies, and eventually get the power to recolor their environment as they saw fit as they played.
I thought it was kind of a cool idea, but unfortunately I recently found out the studio folded. It’s a sad part of this business; sometimes you put work into something and it might not end up going anywhere. Here’s hooping all the people on that team find awesome new game projects soon!
In the mean time, here’s the main theme I wrote for the game. They wanted a mix between the Sword an Swocery soundtrack and a kind of “woodsy” aesthetic, so this is what I came up with. Enjoy!
